Visiting the City of Chicago – Jordan Ewert Photography

Over the weekend in late June, I visited the city of Chicago, Illinois, with my family over two days. This post contains day 1. We booked a hotel near Millennium Park for one night only, so make the most of it we walked around the city for the better part of the day walking (and pushing a stroller for Niko) from Navy Pier, crossing Frank Gehry’s BP Pedestrian Bridge to the Bean and Crown Fountain near Millennium Park.

Griffin Museum of Science and Industry happened to be hosting a Spider-Man exhibit but I’m not going to post those images here, as I really enjoyed some of the more interesting exhibits like Avalanche Disk in motion, the Tornado exhibit, Tesla Coil, and some of the NASA and SpaceX capsules. As a kid, maybe 25 years ago, I remember visiting this museum and being enamored by its size. Being here now with my family makes me so thankful, and Jen and I loved watching Elon and Niko exploring and soaking it all in.

To get a better sense of how the day went I’m going to post these in the order they were taken. Starting from the highway, leading into Chicago with skyscrapers high above, and concluding with a variety of marine life I was able to photograph at the Shedd Aquarium.

Walking back through the city of Chicago

The following images were taken on our walk towards Willis Tower. See my additional post for images and details, since there were so many images I had to include. When I visited this Skydeck as a kid, it was part of the Sears Tower, and I remember it being overcast. Fortunately, not the case this time!
