Detroit Photo Walk – University District

Located one mile west of Woodward Avenue, University District is named for University of Detroit Mercy being in close proximity to the south. Photographed on a hot sunny day with overhead lighting, these upscale houses didn’t appeal much in terms of mood. So experimental editing in came to save the day…

I went with a painted looking preset from Topaz Studio 2 (discontinued in 2020) so all of the houses photographed in University District appeared to have this same type of “idealistic” appearance in the same way a painting might exaggerate aspects of a scene.
