Some things about marketing never change. The way you develop mutually beneficial relationships with prospects, leads, and customers will always be the most important thing to maintain, in any business or industry. My role as a digital marketer is to get you crystal clear on your goals while discovering the challenges that stop you from meeting them. These problems could be not having enough time, not knowing where to start, not having the resources, etc.
Let me ask you this. What makes you decide to buy one product or service over another? Who to listen to? What to watch? Do you think indirect influence (advertising) or experiences you had beforehand affected your purchasing decision? Do you think you these decisions were based on trust? Today there is a massive amount of information out there and we all have to find ways of filtering out the noise.
Before you read any further, who are you trying to attract? Who is your ideal customer? If you don’t have this part figured out nothing else will work. Sure, you can shoot in the dark and make a few shots, but how long can you keep that going? Last time I checked advertising wasn’t cheap. If you’re thinking of marketing yourself the way household companies like Nike, Coca-Cola, and McDonald’s do then you are in for a big surprise.
Especially for small to mid-size companies, marketing this way will not work. These days you have to take a different approach; one which provides value to your audience in a way that’s meaningful AND exceptional. But even this isn’t enough… You have to be diligent, driven, and consistent.
When working with me I sit down with you and figure out your digital marketing goals with a detailed review. If we seem like a good fit for one another I take things a step further and work on creating targeted leads you can work on converting into loyal customers who rave about you and what you do, telling everyone they know.
I’ll admit it, digital marketing never came easy to me. For a long time, I believed in the “build it and they will come” mindset. While this makes for an interesting movie plot, it’s a terrible idea to live by when it comes to marketing. It’s not people’s fault they don’t know you exist. It’s your job to make them aware. Until you do, you’re the best storefront in the middle of the desert. In a way that communicates mutual interest. We’re all selfish creatures, so is it shocking to discover people want to have their needs met first?
What roads will you build to connect to others so they can find you? How can you do this in a way that communicates mutual interest?
At the end of the day people aren’t buying you, they are buying outcomes that solve their problems.
Below is a concise list of your customer journey from uninitiated prospect to fan who tells others about what you do. I guide you through these steps in more detail when working together.
