Less than a week ago we arrived in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a family reunion/vacation. The first thing we did after my parents greeted us was grab some food at a place called Nacho Taco. Delicious food with the perfect amount of spice and seasoning. We all loaded back into the car. Jen and Elon were with me and my parents and my sisters family and brother and wife followed us back to the Wyndham hotel where we had a suite reserved.
The room we had overlooked Myrtle Beach’s neighborhood. Lacking a tripid, I shot these handheld off the balcony. The shot of the hotel was taken the next day. It looks up to where our room was on the 16th floor (really the 15th… since there is no 13th floor of course).
It was hot, so hot we needed shoes just to not have to scream in pain from the heat. This made for a fun game the next day as we swam on the beach and went parasailing. Picture taking was something I actually didn’t do the entire time. Balancing family with more family makes it difficult to have camera in hand and be fully engaged. The shots I did take, however, came out pretty excellent and for the first time in awhile feel like I have a good understanding of color, contrast, and composition.
My dad and I took sunset pictures off the Cherry Grove Pier, which lies just about a mile away from our hotel. These shots focus more on the architecture and less about the people.
