These images were taken on an airplane ride to and from our recent family vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. My parents had been planning this trip for awhile and got everyone together to stay at a suite stationed off the coast of the Atlantic ocean. We met up with them at the airport at dusk after we flew in from the layover in New York’s Laguardia airport. I’m very thankful we could get away to the ocean. Before these coastal images were shot the last time I saw the ocean was in 2012. There were plenty of other images I shot from the airplane as well. Lots of ruralscapes and cloudscapes, as well as the well-timed sun’s reflection off the Hudson River in New York.
All of these images, save for the exception wide shot of the airplane window, were taken with my Zeiss 55 f/1.8 prime lens so there would be no distortion and sharper image details. Overall I’m really happy with how these images turned out and it was interesting to capture everything (for the most part) with a fixed field-of-view.
