Memorial Day weekend this year was spent with my parents, who now live in Vincennes, Indiana. Being back home now with Jen and Elon was great. After some morning coffee and getting ready we packed ourselves into the car and headed into the small town of Marengo to explore Marengo Cave. The first thing I experienced while walking into the gift shop to Marengo Caves was the crystals and rock sculptures. Seeing all these formations brought me back to my personal rock collection I had as a kid collecting the most interesting rocks.
It felt good just to do my own thing again. This was the first time, believe it or not, I really got to play with my new camera.
Geodes (from the gift shop)
Like an island somewhere…
I could have spent another hour exploring at the gift shop, exploring all the formations on the rocks.
After this, of course, was the tour of Marengo Caves itself. For this, I switched to my trusty and first lens purchase for my A7RII; the Sony Zeiss 16-34 f/4. This cave had so many different things to pay attention to.
