Traveling to Minneapolis, MN

Many of the shots from this exploration are now housed in my series From My Airplane Window.

On Friday, October 10th 2014 I traveled to Minneapolis to shoot a music video for my brother’s band, “These Hunks?”, which are a post-rock instrumental three-piece band. The shots below were taken on the plane on my way over. I paid the extra $10 to get a window seat and it was one of the best decisions I made this trip. These were all shot with my Canon 5D Mark III with a Canon 24-70 f/2.8L lens. I just got this camera last week and love the organic film-quality of the noise. Most of these shots were taken at f/11 at an ISO of 640. I left from the Detroit-Metro Airport and arrived at the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport.

These shots were a big deal to me because it was truly the first time I’d flown on a plane alone and was the first time since 2009 I got to take pictures outside of an airplane window.
