Austin, MN Fog

On a Friday morning on September 23rd, I woke up and killed some time taking pictures of fog. There is something unique about the city of Austin Minnesota. Besides living there for six years from 2000 to 2006 during high school and some community college, I was visiting the “Austin Art Festival” which was taking place the following day.

Austin has this old power factory you can see in many of these shots. This is actually the same factory my work would be shown the next day along with hundreds of other local artists. I walked the path and crossed the bridge over millpond which led to the power plant and Austin Library. I’ve walked this dozen times but this morning it was very early, and foggy, and I only saw a handful of people.

This helped create a moody shot. I was very lucky to have woken up as early as I did and taken these shots. There is something about fog I find fascinating…
